Entrepreneurship Competition - Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter
a. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Entrepreneurship Competition (“Competition”) organised by StudentVenture (“StudentVenture”), Myunidays Ltd registered at Elder Yard, 2 Elder Street, London, E1 6BT, United Kingdom with company number 07552253 (“UNiDAYS”) (collectively referred to as “the Organisers”). By entering, participants (“Entrants”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
b. The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Apple Inc. or its subsidiaries or affiliates in any manner.
c. The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Meta.
2. Eligibility and Submission Requirements
a. The Competition is open to current university students or recent graduates (within 2 years of graduation) aged 18 years or older at the time of entry and a resident in the United Kingdom.
b. Entrants must be the rightful holder of a verified UK UNiDAYS® account at all times.
c. The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary, but an Internet connection may be required.
d. Entrants must register [via the StudentVenture website.]
e. Only one entry per individual or team is permitted. Teams must designate a lead representative. There is a maximum of three individuals permitted per team.
f. Employees, contractors, and representatives of the Organisers or their affiliates are not eligible to enter the Competition.
g. The Organisers will not accept and will not count Competition entries that are:
i. automatically generated by a computer (including systems which can be programmed to vote) or by macros;
ii. completed by third parties or in bulk;
iii. illegible, altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
iv. incomplete; or
v. made on behalf of another person.
h. All entries must be original and created by the entrant(s).
i. Entries must not contain unlawful, defamatory, or offensive content, nor infringe any third-party rights.
j. By entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Organisers may require you to provide proof of eligibility; failure to provide it may result in disqualification.
k. By submitting an entry, entrants confirm that all information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
l. If an entrant violates the terms herein, they may be disqualified, and any prize awarded may be voided.
3. Competition Overview
a. The Competition is designed to identify and support early-stage student entrepreneurs and start-ups.
b. The Competition will take place in four stages:
Stage 1: Entrants complete an online form [on StudentVenture] and will need to answer the questions set there. The dates for entry into Stage 1 will run from 18th July to 1st October (“First Stage 1 Entry Period”).
Stage 2: At the end of the Stage 1 Entry Period, the Organisers will select up to 50 entrants based on the selection criteria in clause 4, to join the Accelerator Programme operated by StudentVenture. Further details of what is provided is set out in clause 5
Stage 3: Following the Accelerator Programme, 5 finalists (“Finalist”) will be chosen by the judges and on the selection criteria stated in clause 4, to pitch their start-ups live in London before a panel of investors and judges in 2027 (“Final Pitch Event”), further details of what is provided at the Final Pitch Event is set out in clause 5.
c. Late, incomplete, or illegible entries will not be accepted.
d. The entrants selected to move forward to each stage will be notified by email within 10 days of the end of the relevant stage entry period.
e. The decision of the Organisers is final.
f. If you are an entrant selected to move onto the next stage, you agree that the Organiser may use your name, image, and town, county or region of residence for announcement and reasonable promotional purposes.
g. A list of entrants proceeding to the next stage (including surname, county/region and entry) will be available for 90 days from the relevant selection date. Requests must include a stamped self-addressed envelope to the Student Ventures at 7 Roselands Drive, Sedlescombe, Battle, TN33 0FQ.
h. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and entry being published or made available, please contact StudentVenture at student@studentventure.io. StudentVenture may still provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
i. Entrants may withdraw their submission at any time by notifying StudentVenture in writing at student@studentventure.io; however, withdrawn entries will not be eligible for judging or prizes.
4. Judging and Selection
a. Entries will be reviewed by representatives of the Organisers and independent judges using the following non-exclusive criteria:

The Organisers may apply different weightings to each criterion and may consider additional relevant factors. All decisions are final.
b. Judges’ decisions are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding selection or outcomes.
5. Prizes and Opportunities
a. Further details for the prizes for each stage are set out in clause 2.
b. For entrants selected to take part in the Accelerator Programme, they will gain access to mentorship, training, resources through the Accelerator Programme, which is an online course with live webinars during the eight week programme, and a certificate of completion if they complete the Accelerator Programme.
c. The entrants selected for the Final Pitch Event will be invited to pitch at the Final Pitch Event in London, where prizes, funding opportunities, or partnerships may be awarded on the day of the Final Pitch Event or a later date if decided by the Organisers.
d. Specific prizes, funding, or benefits will be announced separately and are subject to change.
e. Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable and have no cash alternative unless otherwise stated.
f. The Organisers do not guarantee investment, funding, or future business opportunities as part of the Competition.
g. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if necessary.
6. Intellectual Property and Requirements
a. Entrants retain full ownership of all intellectual property in their ideas, materials, and submissions.
b. By entering, entrants grant StudentVenture and UNiDAYS a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use their submitted materials solely for the purposes of administering and judging the Competition.
c. Subject to 8.3, any use of submitted materials (including videos, pitch decks, or other content) for marketing, publicity, or promotional purposes will only occur with the entrant’s prior written consent. Entrants will be contacted to provide permission before any such use.
d. By submitting an entry, entrants confirm that:

the entry is an original entry and has not been copied wholly or substantially from any other source;

the entrant is the owner of all rights in the entry; and
-
the entry does not infringe the rights of any third-party.
e. Where applicable, to the extent that the entry includes a third-party image, the entrant confirms that any rights arising in such image have been waived for that use. If an image is of a person under 18, parental or guardian consent must be provided.
f. Proof of consent may be requested by the Organiser(s); failure to provide may result in disqualification.
g. By submitting an entry to the Competition, the entrant acknowledges that UNiDAYS is an independent innovator in its field. The entrant agrees that UNiDAYS may develop ideas, products, or marketing campaigns that are similar or identical to the entry, and that such independent development shall not constitute an infringement of the entrant's intellectual property rights.
h. For the avoidance of doubt, entrants are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary rights and permissions to share the materials they submit.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
a. By entering, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data by the Organisers for the purposes of administering the Competition, which includes but is not limited to processing your entry, contacting you to provide updates on the status of the competition, announcing the winners and administration of the prizes.
b. Your data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and StudentVenture’s [Privacy Policy] and UNiDAYS’ Privacy policy.
c. The relevant Organiser will only retain your personal information for as long as it has an ongoing legitimate business need or to comply with legal requirements (for example, to administer the Competition, to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements or to protect against fraud). The Organiser may retain your personal information for a longer period to address a complaint or if the Organiser reasonably believes that litigation in respect to our relationship with you is possible. When the Organiser has no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, the data will be deleted or anonymised.
d. Personal information will not be shared with third parties except where required to administer the Competition or as stated herein.
8. Conduct
a. Entrants must act in good faith, with honesty and professionalism throughout the Competition.
b. The Organisers reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entrant or refuse to allow them to participate in any prize, who they believe have violated these Terms or engage in unethical, disruptive, or inappropriate conduct.
9. Event Attendance and Travel
a. Finalists are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs associated with attending the Final Pitch Event, unless otherwise specified.
b. The Organisers, at their discretion, may offer travel support or reimbursement to finalists.
c. By attending the Final Pitch Event, Finalists may be asked to consent to reasonable photography, filming, and media coverage for event documentation and promotion purposes.
10. Liability
a. The Organisers accept no liability for:
● Loss, damage or delay of entries, personal injury, or death arising from the Competition or prizes, except where caused by the Organiser’s negligence.
● Technical issues, interruptions, platform errors, system issues, network issues, server issues, computer hardware issues, or software failures or otherwise

Withdrawal, cancellation, or modification of the Competition or system errors or other issues that may result in disruption and/or lost, delayed or incomplete entries or winner notifications
● Any loss or damage arising from participation in the Competition or use of prizes
b. Insofar as is permitted by law, by entering the Competition, each entrant releases and discharges the Organisers and any other party associated with the development or administration of the Competition from any and all liability related to the Competition.
c. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded by law.
d. By entering the Competition, the entrants acknowledge that to the extent applicable and not excluded under this clause, each Organiser is only liable for loss, damage, expenses, injury or similar caused by itself and the entrant agrees to pursue any claim arising from the actions of an Organiser exclusively against the relevant Organiser.
11. Replacement and Withdrawal
a. If an entrant or team selected to proceed to the next Stage of the Competition is unable or unwilling to participate, does not respond, or fails to provide proof of eligibility within 7 days of notification, the Organisers reserve the right to replace them with another entrant or team from the shortlist.
b. If a Finalist selected to participate in the Final Pitch Event is unable to attend or complete their pitch, the Organisers reserve the right to select and invite a replacement finalist at their discretion.
c. Entrants who withdraw from the Competition or are unable to continue participation must notify StudentVenture in writing as soon as possible.
d. The Organisers are not responsible for any costs, losses, or missed opportunities resulting from a participant’s inability to attend or continue in the Competition.
e Third parties cannot proceed to the next stage on behalf of the selected entrant.
12. Governing Law
a. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
b. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
